Attention: Signs of Hope Camp 2024 update

Currently we are accepting applications for returning campers only. Your child’s safety and wellbeing is our highest priority and until we can secure the necessary behavioral support staff and volunteer counselors we are constrained to accepting a smaller number of youth. If you are a parent of a returning camper and interested in having a sibling attend, we would be happy to place them on a waitlist. If and when we should have a full team of adults, you will receive an email with an application link for that youth.

Please direct any questions you may have to valerie@helponechild.org

Signs of Hope Camp is an overnight summer camp at Mission Springs’ Frontier Ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains for foster, adoptive, and at-risk children 7-12 years of age. Our faith-based program emphasizes wholesome exercise and the building of positive memories.  Each day will include a host of exciting activities including swimming, ropes courses, bible club activities, and much more, with a very low ratio of campers to counselors.  Children will be encouraged at every turn to exhibit good attitudes toward their family and peers while having as much fun as possible!

Camp is free to foster, adoptive, at-risk children residing in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties and the surrounding areas as volunteer counselors raise each child’s camp fees. A social worker consent form is required to be filled out.

Camp Dates: August 4-8, 2024

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we teach the children about God’s love through bible study, skits and activities.

If your child is foster or at-risk, yes, we will need their social worker to sign off. If your child is adopted then a social worker consent form is not applicable.

We prefer children to be there the entire time to gain the true experience of all camp has to offer.

Ideally, we would love everyone to participate, but should they be hesitant, we would honor their comfort level.

We ask that your child be independent during this camp experience.

We have loving counselors trained to work with a child if they are sad or missing their parents. As long as it’s not traumatizing for the child, we gently encourage them to stay.

Your child will need to be prepared for the warm summer days as well as the chilly nights in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Please be sure to pack good outdoor closed-toed shoes and a warm sleeping bag. Download the What To Bring Checklist to ensure that your child is well equipped for camp. Packing List

The entire program costs roughly $60,000. Thanks to the generosity of our counselors and supporters, camp is FREE for all campers to attend. If you would like to donate to your camper’s scholarship fund or ask your church to partner in scholarshiping campers please donate on behalf of Signs Of Hope Camp.

All medications, vitamins, and over-the-counter drugs are to be brought in their original prescription bottles and or manufactured packaging, and signed in at the time of check-in. Campers will be administered the medication by our licensed nurse at the designated times.
