Jay Chesavage
Jay Chesavage has been board chair of Help One Child since 2019, and attends Peninsula Bible Church with his wife Pamela, where they are both deacons. Jay and Pamela’s journey started with the adoption of their son 20 years ago, after which they became foster
parents for twelve children, all adults now, with most of whom they maintain contact and have great relationships in this new season of life.
From the start of their years as adoptive and foster parents, the Chesavages made extensive use of the specialized trauma-informed trainings and family support programs offered by Help One Child. Presently, Jay enjoys going to parent support groups as an encouragement to parents navigating tough seasons of care that he experienced previously.
Professionally, Jay has held engineering, executive, and co-founder positions in several Bay Area startup and public companies. Jay holds a BSEE from the University of Texas, an MSEE from Stanford, is a registered member of the USPTO patent bar, is a California Professional Engineer (electrical), was granted 25 US patents, and holds a California Contractor’s license. However, none of this was of any use at all in preparing him for the practical calling that God brought to him as a foster and adoptive parent.
