The Need

We all know statistics around foster care are bleak but the work of Help One Child helps youth BEAT THE ODDS!

The work of HOC is to strengthen families promoting long-term health and stability. Permanency is the greatest impact on a child/youth’s trajectory toward health and healing. Through the programs HOC offers, families receive what they need to continue to say yes.


Notable Statistics:

  • 27.9% Drop out rate for high school foster youth
  • 80% of youth who entered foster care at age 12 or older leave the system through emancipation
  • 40% experience homelessness upon aging out of the foster care system
  • 60% of USA native born human traffic victims are foster youth
