What is CarePortal?

In every community, children and families in crisis need help. In every community, there are churches and people who care. What we need is connection. CarePortal offers that connection.

CarePortal is a technology platform that brings social service agencies and church responders together to serve children and families touched by the child welfare system. Help One Child has been implementing this nationwide program in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2017. Help One Child facilitates the collaboration of a diversity of nonprofits, churches, schools, and government agencies, to better serve our local families and unite as a community.

Click to See How CarePortal Works

01.

DISCERN

A family is visited by a child welfare professional and has their needs identified.

02.

SUBMIT & SHARE

A request for said need is submitted into CarePortal, and that message is shared with churches nearby.

03.

RESPOND

Churches that can fill the need are able to respond directly to the case worker who is actively working with the child.

04.

CONNECT

The process ensures the child is helped, many of which are isolated and have no support system.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD’S LIFE.

Ways to Make a Difference

Help One Child provides all training and support needed for churches and communities to love their neighbors while breaking the cycle of isolation.

CarePortal strategically addresses all areas of Child Welfare in a framework we call The Grid. These areas include: helping prevent families from entering foster care, supporting resource parents, adoptive parents, kinship and youth aging out of the system.

This simple technology allows us to extend our reach, serving more families and building a meaningful bridge between Church and State in our area.
