Open Foster and Adoptive Placements
Our November Monthly Parent Training explores connecting with the bio family and will be led by Beth Hall, co-founder and co-director of PACT, An Adoption Alliance, a multicultural adoption organization dedicated to addressing essential issues affecting adopted children of color. Her book is (co-authored with Gail Steinberg),Inside Transracial Adoption. She is a transracial adoptive parent and was raised in an adoptive family, with an adoptive sibling.
Recognizing that there are no cookie cutter approaches to building a positive triad relationship, this workshop will address the following kinds of questions and more: How can birth family members remain connected to a foster child without confusing the child? How can complex relationships between adoptive and birth parents be managed for the support of a child? What’s reasonable and how do decisions affect the child? When should a child meet his/her birth family?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”13280″ img_size=”medium”][vc_single_image image=”343″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEtc-CprzsvE91ZmVvioetp5SZ5r6AO7OYw”][vc_column_text]Once you register for this virtual training, you will receive an email with the zoom joining details.
