Educational Advocacy and Navigating the School System for Foster, Adoptive and Kinship Parents
Dr. Marina Vaserman has a doctorate degree in Social Work from USC and she has dedicated her life professionally and personally to the youth in our community. She’s a long-time foster parent with Rebekah Children’s Services in Santa Clara County and she started Foster the Foster Family in 2017. She has a background in Educational Psychology and Neuopsychology from NYU and works in educational advocacy in the SF Bay Area. Marina is the founder and executive director of Open Mind School, a K-12 inclusive school that uses data analytics to create optimal learning environments. She runs Open Mind Center for Brain & Behavior providing outreach support to public schools in professional development, organizations in accessibility trainings, and families for behavioral and mental health home-based services. Marina also runs Bay Area Specialfit focused on health and wellness for youth and Silicon Valley’s Social Innovation Lab, an incubator for ed-tech testing in AT, AI, and CBI. She’s a highly sought after guest speaker and presenter on the topics of inclusion and accessibility for students with disabilities and students in the dependency system.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information to join the training.
