Trauma Informed Parenting with Randall Ramirez, LCSW, LMFT

November 5, 2022 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Course Description: Parenting children from hard places requires that parents and caregivers have a working knowledge of trauma and its effects on behavior, learning, and home/school climate. Without adequate awareness of trauma’s impact on the child’s neurophysiological system, behavior and cognition, children can often experience their environment as unsafe, thus leading to at-risk encounters, depression, and self-harm.

Course Objectives:

  • Parent learners will understand Complex Trauma and its impact on the child’s developing brain.
  • Parents learners will be able to identify common symptoms and behaviors related to Complex Trauma.
  • Parent learners will be able to gain knowledge of effective strategies and interventions.
  • Parent learners will be able to identify programming adjustments to respond to complex trauma.
