Making Sense of Suffering: Why Is This Happening?
January 19, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Our January monthly parent training will be led by Dr. Sarah A. Hill, Psy.D.
Dr. Hill will be presenting on making sense of suffering. When our lives are rocked by suffering and pain, it can shatter our ability of seeing the world as a safe, predictable place. Statistics show that the vast majority of people will be exposed to at least one traumatic event at some point in their lives. Those who care for hurting children have witnessed not just one possible trauma, but the reality of severe, ongoing trauma to the most vulnerable among us. Studies show that those who are able to survive through trauma with resilience and even post-traumatic growth are those who are able to effectively engage in the process of meaning-making. This workshop will be an introduction to the process of trying to make sense of a world where scary things happen while holding onto the hope that parents NEED in order to raise children in this same hurting world.
We hope you can join us! Registration is required for attendance by filling out the form below.
