Food Issues for Children from Hard Places Part 2 Virtual August Training
August 6 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Dr. Marlina Selva, Psy.D. will present a follow up and expand upon the complexity of food issues for foster/adopted children. There will be a discussion to help parents gain a deeper understanding of children’s behaviors around food, which includes extreme pickiness or fixations with certain foods, food hoarding, binge eating, difficulty feeling satiated (full or satisfied), etc. Dr. Selva is also tying in how challenges with executive functioning skills (i.e., ADHD) can trigger and exacerbate food issues as part of the new material covered. Parents are welcome to share their own experiences on these topics.
Trainer Biography: Dr. Selva helps adolescents and families work through difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, school adjustment, attachment, and family conflict. Working with and connecting with adolescents is one of her many talents and her partnership with Help One Child began after an introduction from Dr. Don Williams, co-founder of our Support Groups back in 1999.
