Blocked Care and Parental Trauma: An In Person, Therapist-led Training (Hosted with Los Gatos Connection Group)
November 14 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Course Description: The challenges you face in parenting children affected by trauma, abuse, neglect and prenatal substance abuse often bring their own brand of exhaustion and fatigue. Sometimes it becomes so overwhelming that it seems like you have reached the limits of your ability to give the compassionate care you know the child needs. When extended and extreme periods of stress overwhelm the nervous system, caregivers may shut down in self-defense which impacts the parent-child relationship. Come get support to learn about how to care for yourself as a caregiver and restore the kind of relationship you are seeking with your child.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the nature of blocked care & parental trauma
- Identifying signs of blocked care, and
- Learn practical strategies to address blocked care and revive the parent-child relationship.
Dinner and childcare will be provided at no cost. Please register below so we have an accurate headcount. If your family has dietary restrictions or food allergies, please bring food to accommodate your needs.
Childcare is available by RSVP only. Please complete the form below by Tuesday, November 12th at 5pm.
