Contra Costa County

We are happy to announce that Help One Child is now in Contra Costa County!

Upcoming Events:

Gingerbread Extravaganza

Date: December 1, 2019
Location: Brentwood
Time: 2:30pm -5:00pm
Each year, we have the opportunity to help host the 10th Annual Ginger Bread Extravaganza, where over 150 foster, adopted, and at-risk youth and their families are in attendance – rain or shine! It is a busy day filled with games and crafts, pictures with Santa, opportunity to bring a Christmas gift for all different age groups, gingerbread decorating, prizes, a family raffle, and community.
Volunteer for one of the many teams and activities to make this event fun and memorable!
Email Catherine for more information and to SIGN UP!

Adopt a Tree

Looking for something that you could do with a group? We have three county offices that need your help with decorations and gifts. We need to make sure all the children that come into the Social Service offices can feel the Christmas spirit!

Adopt a Foster Child or Family for Christmas

Your small group, church or family could help provide a great Christmas for the Foster Children and their Families this year!
Find out more information by contacting Catherine.

Our “Aged Out” Young Adults

Help us provide a great Christmas for our Young Adults that have nowhere to go over the Holidays. Touch the lives of our local “aged out” youth that are now trying to make it on their own.  Maybe an invite to Christmas dinner, mentoring, buying a gift card and much more.
We are currently collecting gift cards until December 20th.

Let’s Launch CarePortal in Contra Costa County!

CarePortal is an online platform that brings the needs of hurting children and families in our community to the church’s attention. As the Regional Manager, Help One Child collaborates with county child welfare workers to uncover the needs, and makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.

CarePortal strategically addresses all areas of Child Welfare in a framework we call The Grid.  These areas include helping prevent families from entering foster care, supporting resource parents, adoptive parents, kinship and youth aging out of the system.

Help One Child provides all training and support needed for churches and communities to love their neighbors while breaking the cycle of isolation.
