We are happy to announce that Help One Child is now in Contra Costa County!
Blessing foster, adoptive and at-risk families through COVID-19
During this unprecedented time, vulnerable families and foster children need support more than ever as they face indescribable challenges. These times of uncertainty can be stressful for everyone but for children who have experienced previous trauma, fears and triggers are common.
One of the ways we can provide some support and relief is through delivering fun and engaging activities for children and their caregivers.
With the input of a social worker with boots on the ground we have put together a wish list of what we feel will be helpful for families during this time.
If you’d like to contribute, check out the Amazon Wish List and order an item or two. When ordering, please select “Trudy Emanuelsen’s Gift Registry Address” as the delivery option.
Let’s Launch CarePortal in Contra Costa County!
CarePortal is an online platform that brings the needs of hurting children and families in our community to the church’s attention. As the Regional Manager, Help One Child collaborates with county child welfare workers to uncover the needs, and makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.
CarePortal strategically addresses all areas of Child Welfare in a framework we call The Grid. These areas include helping prevent families from entering foster care, supporting resource parents, adoptive parents, kinship and youth aging out of the system.
Help One Child provides all training and support needed for churches and communities to love their neighbors while breaking the cycle of isolation.

Come and meet with other adoptive, foster, and kinship parents who are walking the same parenting path as you. There will be time for learning trauma-informed parenting skills that will help you in your day to day life with your child, as well as time for group discussion.
