Shelter In Place Busy Boxes

Working with Alameda County, Help One Child, and Foster The Bay, we’ve created a list of items to create “busy kits” for kids in care during these unprecedented moments in time. These kits will be distributed to those children through Social Worker home visits and upon intake.

Many foster and adoptive families work daily to provide therapeutic homes where their child might learn to trust and attach to their caregivers. This is by no means an easy task. The shelter-in-place order is an extra hard scenario for kids who are triggered by “being part of a family” and results in tough behavior. By bringing a few items to alleviate the stress and boredom, we can hope to provide a small bright spot in their lives. Family focused games, like those shown in this list also provide a wonderful opportunity for bonding.

If anyone would like to participate and purchase one or a few of these small activities, you can simply click the Amazon Wish List and pick what you’d like. The item will get shipped and delivered to these amazing kids!

Help One Child is launching its programs in the East Bay! We are actively working to build relationships with churches, child
welfare workers, and Community Based Organizations. If you are interested in seeing your church get involved contact our local Ambassador Michelle Davis.

We need your support! Become a financial partner to help launch this ministry to see families and children in crisis served in our community.
