Monthly: Race, Foster Care and Adoption: When Families Don’t Match
February 16, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Our February Monthly Parent Training will be led by Beth Hall, co-founder and co-director of PACT, An Adoption Alliance, a multicultural adoption organization dedicated to addressing essential issues affecting adopted children of color. Her book is (co-authored with Gail Steinberg), Inside Transracial Adoption.
Beth will explore a developmental approach to transracial adoptive and foster placements so that parents can be aware, educated and find appropriate supports. Are you planning a transracial adoption, or are you already parenting across racial lines? Pact believes that in order for transracial foster care placements or adoptions to successfully meet children’s needs, parents must educate themselves about race and racism and how these issues play out in families where children and parents do not share the same racial identity. This workshop is designed to support you on that journey. Appropriate for international, foster and domestic adoption, pre- and post-placement.
We hope you can join us! Registration is required for attendance by filling out the form below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”10649″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
