Parenting Through the Challenges of Fostering and Adoption

You are invited to join a presentation facilitated by local expert Donna Erickson. Learn about the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Quiz and “Compassion Fatigue”.
Donna will help Caregivers identify their child’s score and potential health and behavioral risks. After navigating the possible results and effects, Donna will invite participants to share their questions/challenges in order to create an interactive discussion filled with practical parenting examples.
About the Presenter:
Donna Erickson, has provided training for Caregivers and Social Work staff in Santa Clara County for 29 years. During that time she served as the Program Director for Foster and Kinship Care Education-West Valley College including Developmental, Behavioral, Medical, Social and Familial topics.
In addition Donna has been a Health Education and Maternal-Child Instructor at El Camino Hospital for the past 35 years. She also currently works as a Behavioral Health Instructor for US Army 63rd Regional Support Command, Moffett Field, CA (since 2006) assisting in the Reintegration of Soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq and their families.

Lifetime Teaching Credentials in Health and Physical Care Services
Counseling – Masters Degree in Counseling University of San Francisco
Was a Foster Child at age 8, 11, 14, and 16.
Donna is married and stays busy with 5 children and 10 grandchildren.
